Description

Shoji MAX, Japanese sliding door for PAX wardrobes

The Shoji MAX are Shoji sliding doors for installation as wardrobe doors. The MAX sliding doors and the installation sets fit PAX closets exactly. The doors have 5 or 6 horizontal struts and large Japanese paper surfaces. We build the Shoji MAX in our workshop in Berlin-Lichtenberg individually and to the millimeter for you.

The material:

We build Shoji MAX from pine wood from the Mark Brandenburg and the Franconian Forest, from Spessart oak and other woods that are as regional as possible. The wood for our shoji is PEFC-certified as far as possible from sustainable forestry, at least with the FSC seal. We only use straight, at least 3-sided knotless, well-dried and warp-free wood.

The craft:

modern and minimalist design, built with great care and craftsmanship: All corner joints of the shoji are firmly glued, the rungs are glued in. Everything is stable, durable and fits perfectly.

The surfaces

Our softwood shoji surfaces are finished (finely planed). This is the traditional and most natural surface - much smoother than sanded, dust and dirt repellent, without any environmental impact. Shoji made from hardwoods such as oak and cherry are additionally waxed.

We use pine, fir or spruce wood and a glaze based on sunflower oil for the colored glazed shoji made from softwoods. Possible shades include dark walnut, smoked oak, but also anthracite or other colors.

The covering:

All pictures are design examples. Some pictures show several Shoji doors. The unit price shown is for one door element. The cabinet carcass and decoration are not included in the scope of delivery.

Sind die Shoji-Schranktüren schon mit Papier bespannt, wenn ich sie bekomme? Bernd Kuhn gefragt am 22.01.2025

Yes, the Shoji MAX are completely covered with paper and ready to install. All you have to do is screw the guide rails and the visible sides to the cabinet. Then you can hang the sliding doors in the wardrobe.

Ich möchte einen 3 m breiten Schrank aus 3 Stück 1 m Korpussen und dran 3 Schiebetüren. Wie funktioniert das? Polyhistor gefragt am 22.01.2025

Sliding doors for PAX are actually installed in pairs. Accordingly, there are 2 m wide cabinets with 2 sliding doors, 4 m wide with 4 doors and so on. The tracks are 2-track and 2 m long. If you assemble the rails from 2 parts (2 m + 1 m), this also works, but then you have 3 doors on 2 rails and can only ever open one of the 3 cupboard compartments, because there are 2 doors on one rail.

The following alternatives are also available:

1. you could equip the cupboard with 6 hinged doors, then everything can be opened at the same time.
2. you take 4 carcasses in 75 cm width and 4 sliding doors, then you have the 3 m width and the cupboard space is more accessible
