Shoji MAX, Japanese sliding door and Shoji FRED, hinged door for PAX wardrobes

The Shoji MAX and FRED are Shoji doors for installation as wardrobe doors. FRED, MAX and the installation sets fit PAX closets exactly. The doors have 5 or 6 horizontal struts and large Japanese paper panels. We build the shoji individually for you in our workshop in Berlin-Lichtenberg with millimeter precision.

The material:

We build Shoji MAX from pine wood from the Mark Brandenburg and the Franconian Forest, from Spessart oak and other woods that are as regional as possible. The wood for our shoji is PEFC-certified as far as possible from sustainable forestry, at least with the FSC seal. We only use straight, at least 3-sided knotless, well-dried and warp-free wood.

The craft:

modern and minimalist design, built with great care and craftsmanship: All corner joints of the shoji are firmly glued, the rungs are glued in. Everything is stable, durable and fits perfectly.

The surfaces

Our softwood shoji surfaces are finished (finely planed). This is the traditional and most natural surface - much smoother than sanded, dust and dirt repellent, without any environmental impact. Shoji made from hardwoods such as oak and cherry are additionally waxed.

We use pine, fir or spruce wood and a glaze based on sunflower oil for the colored glazed shoji made from softwoods. Possible shades include dark walnut, smoked oak, but also anthracite or other colors.

The covering:

MADOCA MF04, tear-resistant shoji paper
